Pendennis Ship Yard

  • Client Pendennis Shipyard
  • Location Falmouth, Cornwall
  • Cost £23m
  • Completion 2015

Major redevelopment of Pendennis Shipyard’s Falmouth based facility for the re-fit and construction of their world famous superyachts. The project consisted of seeing the previous single construction hall replaced by three intensively serviced 90m construction halls, together with a tidally controlled wetbasin. The new halls are flanked with supporting flexible workshops, and painting facilities that can be easily adapted to suit each new yacht project as it arrives at the facility. All of which complement the existing dry dock and provide more flexible space for superyacht refits and new build projects at the 6.5 acre site. The scheme also includes associated office and staff support facilities, and achieved an BREEAM 'Excellent' standard.

The yard in Falmouth can now boast some of the largest and most accessible superyacht new build and refit facilities in the world. The programme of works was part funded by the ERDF and Cornwall and Isle of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership’s Growing Places Fund.
