The Green Build Hub is a two-storey BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ test-bed for new and innovative green technologies within Cornwall. At 490sqm, it accommodates a double height glulam frame exhibition space, entrance lobby, office space, conference room, breakout spaces, circulation core and associated visible service spaces.

Situated within the world famous Eden Project site in Bodelva, St Austell, the building offers unique opportunities to house, test and help evolve sustainable technologies within a real building context resulting in the production of objective based performance data.

The building met the requirements of BREEAM ‘Outstanding’, an Equality Assessment and the ERDF Capital Build and Infrastructure Projects Equality and Diversity Toolkit. PBWC Architects led the design and BIM (building Information Modelling) coordination to achieve these goals and ensure that every part of the design team was collaborating effectively.

I hope the building will stimulate and support SMEs in the green build and renewable sectors nationally to engage with the innovation going on at the site. Coupled with the opportunity for new high level skills to be taught on site, this can only be a benefit to the wider area.
