The significant refurbishment and expansion of this luxury hotel resort in Falmouth was part of a wider £50m masterplan project designed by Poynton Bradbury Architects.

This first stage of development saw the transformation of the hotel from a four-AA-star property with 61 bedrooms to one with 84 bedrooms and a spa with the largest hydrotherapy pool in the south west.

The project addressed several challenges to create a cohesive, luxurious scheme for both hotel users and the public alike. Hotel access and visitor circulation was improved with an extensive internal reconfiguration and new reception. An expansion of the west wing provided a new premium events space and two new restaurants: The Garden Kitchen and Brasserie on the Bay.

Alongside ten treatment rooms, the new spa offers 21 massage stations, the world's first Cornish sea salt steam room and a traditional Moroccan rhassoul clay steam chamber.

As part of the wider vision and masterplan Poynton Bradbury Architects were also appointed to design and deliver The Beach House project, an expansion and refurbishment of the Croft Building to become 32 new bedrooms.

The Liner project has also now been completed as part of the wider resport masterplan, providing fifty-two new luxury self-catering, sea-facing apartments.

Additionally, the resort features a new 13,000 sq ft health club with a gym, fitness studios and a dedicated Gig Rowing Studio. There is also an indoor swimming pool and four tennis courts.

We’ve had a lot of jaws dropping in terms of the quality and breadth of the spa and people love the new arrival lounge. Our guests also love the fact that our resort is rooted in the local community.
