The new Valency Building, part of the South West Institute of Technology, provides students and apprentices with facilities that rival the best in the UK for digital, engineering and manufacturing.

The building provides specialist teaching space for Truro and Penwith College’s Cornwall Space and Aerospace Technology Training (CSATT) project, a space engineering technician apprenticeship that allows learners to gain the future skills needed to work in spacecraft manufacturing and design, satellite telecommunications and rocket propulsion.

“The government has big ambitions for the space industry, and the time is right for a new specialist space training facility in the South West."
