Riding the wave at Atlantic Studio
St Ives based Poynton Bradbury Wynter Cole Architects, who celebrate 40 years in practice this year, have today moved to a state-of-the-art new workspace named ‘Atlantic Studio’.
‘We purchased the former St Ives Motor Company site on the main road into St Ives earlier this year to create a new workspace for our team,’ comments Rachael Gaunt, Architectural Director of PBWC Architects. ‘We are passionate about St Ives and are delighted that we have secured such an amazing place to work from’.
The new studio has allowed the practice to expand, taking on two new members of staff to create a highly skilled team of 16 people. The name ‘Atlantic Studio’ makes reference to the sea views and position of the new HQ for PBWC Architects, who have expanded the range of services they offer in line with the move.
The construction of the new studio was aided by a Regional Growth Fund grant which assisted with the creation of our new space. The grant has also allowed us to invest in cutting edge technology that harnesses the power of the Superfast Fibre network in Cornwall.
‘We are delighted that our new studio has been handed over ahead of programme and we must extend thanks to the amazing team at Symons Construction’.
All at the practice are looking forward to continuing to deliver award-winning projects for clients in Cornwall and beyond. PBWC is one of the largest architectural firms in the South West and has been based in St Ives since 1973.
